Building Resilience, Empowering Communities in Somaliland
ERDO delivers emergency response, sustainable development, and lasting change to Somaliland’s most vulnerable communities from drought-affected families to displaced women and children.
Founded on 23rd October 2018 by a group of humanitarian activists, ERDO was created to improve the lives of Somaliland’s people during emergencies, relief operations, and long-term development.
ERDO complements the work of international agencies by bringing deep local knowledge, community trust, and a needs-driven approach to every program we implement — reaching marginalized people, IDPs, refugees, women, children, and the elderly.
Participatory Approach — beneficiaries shape every phase
Needs-Driven Design — programs built from community demand
Full Accountability & Transparency to all stakeholders
Sustainability — benefits continue after projects close
In 2023, ERDO partnered with World Concern to deliver a comprehensive intervention for Internally Displaced Persons across Somaliland — addressing displacement, improving WASH facilities, promoting peace, and empowering women.
The $120,000 project reached thousands of IDPs with clean water, sanitation, cash support, and skills training. Communities reported measurable gains in food security, hygiene practices, and women’s participation in decision-making.
Whether you give financially, partner with us institutionally, or volunteer your time — your contribution directly transforms lives in Somaliland.

Your financial contribution funds direct relief — food, water, healthcare, and education for Somaliland’s most vulnerable people. Every dollar is accounted for and transparently reported.
ERDO welcomes institutional partnerships with donors, INGOs, government agencies, and the private sector. We bring local expertise and transparent implementation.
